Hello everyone, NEWBIES to WordPress platform, this is for you. Firstly, if you just created a blog or you're about to, I would like you to know more about "PERMALINK". Knowing permalink is very essential at the beginning of blogging.

I and many bloggers have made this mistake in the past and it wasn't easy to get back on track. The WordPress default permalink is set as "plain" I.e HTTP://example.com/?p=123 or HTTP://www.example.com/?p=123, however, it depends on your protocol. These kinda types of links ain't User and Bot friendly, and a good link should be Users and Bots friendly for SEO purposes.

So, what is the best User and Bot friendly permalink?

My splendid answer to this question is the "POST NAME" I.e HTTPS://example.com/sample-post. Let me use this permalink In a brief example. Let's say Ibrahim.com is my domain and I'm writing about myself, "Who is Ibrahim" is my post title. The outcome will be like; https://ibrahim.com/who-is-ibrahim/, compare to the default plain permalink e.g https://ibrahim.com/?p=who-is-ibrahim

The "Day and name" and "Month and day" permalink are also good, i.e HTTP://example.com/2021/09/01/sample-post and HTTP://example.com/2021/09/sample post. However, it's not recommended if you're not into the ENTERTAINMENT NICHE, the reason why I said this is, we often update our contents monthly or yearly, so the date in your URL will be somehow awkward if a post made the last year 2020 is updated this year 2021.

You have nothing to worry about if you've already been using the Day and name and Month and day permalink as it won't affect your SEO.

P.S DON'T CHANGE YOUR PERMALINK IF YOU'VE ALREADY BEEN POSTING GREAT ARTICLES THAT ARE DOING WELL ALREADY.
